Tips for sharing

Here are some tips for sharing events on the Facebook group wall:

*Keep it short - share what's essential for individuals to
take whatever action your asking (scheduling an audition, buying tickets, etc.); it's ideal for people not to have to click "see more" to read the entirety of your post.

*Post with a link - If anything the goal should be to drive traffic to your own site or event page.
Think of DC PAL more as a hub than a final destination.

*Say how you're involved - It's okay to say what role your role is, either on or off stage. In fact I encourage it, since I call you out in the bulletin anyway.

*You should be involved on the artistic or production team of a performance - Yes, there is some leniency when posting on the wall for those who have a marketing, other admin, or board role. I certainly don't want to discourage you from sharing, but would also like for you to encourage your artists to join the group and share what's happening, themselves!! I do reserve the right to only include happenings which those involved either on the artistic or the production team share.

this leads me to another tip, which goes a little beyond the wall

*don't make it work to find out how you're involved - Believe it or not, I actually click on every link to look for a cast and production team list, or I go to the fan page or website to look for that as well as staff of an organization to make sure this doesn't just become yet another place for marketing directors to post copy

and a tip for marketing director and similar types

*I encourage you to post special events (i.e. opening night receptions, PWYC, etc.) anything beyond the normal run of a performance, something that was probably the result of a great idea you had to further engage audiences and other artists; with regard to the show itself, get your artists/performers to join the group and share what's happening themselves, and make sure there's a cast & production list that's easily accessible on the FB event page or your website.
